It all started wonderfully, the new romance that sparked joy in your hearts, the pleasant surprise of the proposal, the delicious anticipation you felt throughout the long engagement, the big day with all your friends and relatives present to see you seal your love, and finally the honeymoon in a tropical paradise. It was all incredible, right out of a storybook, but sometimes even the best stories come to an unexpected end. After you flew home from the exotic dishes you dined on in Bali to Australia’s plain old toast and butter for breakfast, it felt like some of the magic didn’t make it back with you. The regular daily rat race began all over again, and despite now having a partner to help you through, the troubles of modern existence began to take their toll, and whatever joy you once felt in each other’s presence was now more like a tense staff meeting over budget and finances. The fun was gone, and you both had to face the fact that your love was not meant to be, and it was time to part ways.
It’s a sad story and one that’s all too common in these difficult times. The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported that there were 56,244 divorces granted in the year 2021, so you aren’t alone, it’s happening to a lot of people. It’s a bit of a mystery, really, sometimes it’s the fools that rush in who stand the test of time whilst the careful lovers who played it all by the book end up parting ways. No one can claim to understand the mysteries of the human heart, but we do know that once a married couple’s minds have been made up and they wish to seek a divorce, they had better obtain the services of the best family lawyer they can find!
There are some legal requirements in the process:
-You must have been married for at least two years and separated for 12 months to be eligible.
-You will need to have a marriage certificate or some other form of recognized legal proof that you are married.
-If the divorce is mutually agreed upon from the start it’s a bit simpler, if not, the partner initiating the process must notify the other, and you will both need to sign papers.
It’s unfortunate, but we hope your divorce leads you both to better days.
